A Reforestation & Conservation Conversation

Big Cat and Reforestation Talk PosterNow that took some saying!

We are delighted to give you a heads up on a fabulous event taking place on 12th November at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden near Ashford, Kent.

Our forestry expert and Trustee, Ru Hartwell, will be giving a joint presentation with Giles Clark, MD of The Big Cat Sanctuary, as part of a series of #ConservationConversations being held at the 32 acre grass land sanctuary, throughout 2017.

Ru and Giles will be discussing the effects of reforestation in Kenya and the impact it has on the local wildlife population.

#TreesAreTheKey is a very popular Internet hashtag right now and there couldn’t be a more fitting one for the event.

Ru is still in Kenya at the moment. He has been helping the Boré community finish building the Forest Visitor Centre on the edge of the magnificent Hell’s Kitchen and checking on the status of our Word Forest. The work we’ve done in this coastal region of Kenya since 2012 continues to improve the health of our planet, for all its inhabitants.

Giles is a leading conservationist and will be talking about how to mitigate the wildlife-human conflict, as the essential habitats for wild cats, is replaced. He is incredibly passionate about wildlife and his love of animals is evident. You’ll also be able to find out more about the international conservation projects he’s helping to raise awareness of.

The Big Cat Sanctuary is not usually open to the public and your ticket will also include a rare opportunity to wander the facility and find out more about the cats from their dedicated team of rangers.

This event is one of a series of #ConservationConversations The Big Cat Sanctuary is hosting throughout 2017. Tickets are limited – book yours early.
