The Word Forest Organisation Talk is the first in the series of #ConservationConversations at The Big Cat Sanctuary for 2018.
The presentations look at the importance of reforestation and the resulting wildlife populations once this essential habitat is replaced, with insights into conservation initiatives from Giles Clark, our Big Cat expert and Ru Hartwell from The Word Forest Organisation.
Forestry expert Ru Hartwell, will talk about planting new forests in Kenya and how they are helping the surrounding communities to take care of the trees. This amazing charity has already planted over 75 acres which is having an enormously positive impact on the levels of wildlife in the area, with fauna, including big cats, moving into the new flora.
Conservationist Giles Clark, will be talking about how to mitigate the wildlife: human conflict as the wild cats return. Giles will also be speaking about an initiative by MYCAT (Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers) to raise funds to plant 1,000 trees to help the restoration of the Sungai Yu Tiger Corridor in aid of the critically endangered Malayan Tiger.
You will also have the opportunity to wander our site to see all the wild cats, and the chance to purchase a raffle ticket to win a Tiger hand-feed experience on the day!
Tickets are £35 per person, for 11 years and over. Free parking.
