We’re Seeking Two Volunteers!

We’re currently seeking two volunteers to run a variety of fundraising-centric projects for our Lyme Regis based reforestation charity.

The Word Forest Organisation plants trees, builds classrooms and facilitates education in impoverished communities in Kenya. We also founded a women’s empowerment group there called Mothers of the Forest.

Some of the project headers include: Charity of the Year, distributing and promoting our forthcoming documentary #TreesAreTheKey , seeking sporty fundraisers (marathons, swims etc), developing our media database, corporate partnerships and more.

We’re looking for people who can commit up to 4 x 1/2 or full days a week in our office in central Lyme Regis, although occasional working from home can be arranged after an induction period.

volunteersGeneral computer skills are necessary, confidence on the phone would be good and having the ability to create databases will be useful but training can be given. Experience of doing fundraising administration would be great, but is not essential.

We need enthusiasm, positivity and a willing, flexible, ‘Can Do’ approach to creative project administration. An eco-friendly frame of mind would be really nice too.

We have a small, dynamic and creative office with a lovely view over Lyme Bay and it’s a calm and restful environment to work in.

Our charity has just turned into its third year. We have one full time member of staff and a few volunteers who are amazing but we need to build the team and launch a few solid projects with motivated people who are excited and have the time to run them.

Volunteering with us means you’d be directly helping to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change, lifting communities out of poverty and assisting with women’s empowerment in Kenya.

If this inspires you, please drop us a line with a few details about yourself, your contact details and availability, then come on in and have a chat.
