New Year, New Office: Same Goals

At the end of 2019, while most people were preparing to make resolutions for 2020, our Team were dismantling our office and rolling up bits of electric string in readiness for pastures new.

On 1st January 2020, we began to fill the edges of our new space at:

Unit 1 St Michael’s Business Centre
Church Street
Lyme Regis
Dorset
DT7 3DB

The Word Forest Organisation was born on 7th April 2017 in the Lyme Regis home/office of our founders, Tracey and Simon West. They absorbed all the running costs for the first few years while Word Forest established itself as a serious contender on the international environmental charity stage.

With the ongoing development of our fundraising strategy, innovative and educational events and the expansion of our range of ethical merchandise to fulfil our charitable objects, our requirements for volunteer assistance has grown, as has our need for more space.

For the next three months, we’ll be sharing Unit 1 with another organisation as they slowly decamp, but even with a footprint of half the office, it’s considerably more room than we had before.

At the beginning of April 2020, we hope to fill the entire 49 square metres with desks for volunteers. If we can raise some ringfenced funding, we’ll also be able to employ staff and share the workload of reforesting Kenya and planting more trees in the UK.

If you’d like to help us help our planet, consider hosting a fundraiser for us or make a donation here and if you’re able to Gift Aid it, that’ll net another 20 wonderful percent. If you’d like to get involved with our volunteer programme, complete our online application form and we’ll get back to you.

2020 is going to be a roller-coaster of a year for Word Forest – buckle up, hop in and take a CO2-free ride alongside us!
