Tangled Yet Coiled

An intriguing title for a stunning collection of poetry!

We were thrilled and very grateful when talented poet Tom Burgess contacted us a few months back to say he would like to donate a portion of his profits from his new book to The Word Forest Organisation. A few members of our team were lucky enough to be given a sneaky peak preview (that’s how we know that it really is a stunning collection!)

Tom’s lyrical poems weave together themes of mental health, nature and the wild, ecological breakdown and climate change; they are both a reflection and a call to action. Gripping and moving in equal measure, they will linger in your thoughts for days. The foreword is by our CEO, Tracey West.

The book was crowd funded by Tom and published by Arkbound*, who are based in Bristol and Glasgow. A publisher that actively supports people from disadvantaged backgrounds into writing and publishing, many of their publications have a social or environmental message of some kind.

Tangled Yet Coiled will be launched on Thursday 3rd June 2021 at 7.30 pm at a free online event. Tom will be performing poems from the book and other performers are invited to read their environmentally inspired pieces too. It’s going to be a brilliant evening, so please do join us.

Please email [email protected] with details of what you’d like to perform and/or for a link to the event.

Thank you so much Tom! Thanks also to Ellie Potts at Arkbound who has worked so hard on this.

Look forward to seeing you there! *Arkbound are the charitable trading company of the Arkbound Foundation and as such, all their profits go back to the charity
